The Ministry of Education in Romania has elaborated a notification MECTS nr. 28463 / 3 March 2010 that aims to prevent and eliminate the segregation in kindergartens and primary schools.
The note recommends that school mediators should be maintained by the local authorities.In addition the document is mentioning that teaching Romani language and culture should not encourage segregation of Roma.

Although the notification does not have sanctions and is not as powerful as a law it is still a step foreword and the Roma Education Fund greatly welcomes it.
