REF participates in a large meeting organized by the Fundacion Secretariado Gitanos in Madrid to discuss increased collaboration between agencies managing structural funds in Europe

Judit Szira, REF Senior Advisor, participated in a large meeting to discuss a proposal to establish a Network on Roma Community and Social Inclusion in order to ensure that more EU financing can be directed at activities supporting Roma inclusion. The network would try to influence the new programming of European Structural Funds (2007-2009).

Judit Szira, REF Senior Advisor, participated in a large meeting to discuss a proposal to establish a Network on Roma Community and Social Inclusion in order to ensure that more EU financing can be directed at activities supporting Roma inclusion. The network would try to influence the new programming of European Structural Funds (2007-2009).

The network would allow sharing innovative ideas, practices and strategies to improve the social inclusion and employment of the Roma community using  ESF resources or other SF activities and projects.The network should also help exchanging experiences and know-how among a wide range of actors, such as public institutions, NGOs and a variety of social actors. Participating countries would be Romania, Greece, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria and Spain.
