State Secretary Nenad Ivanišević of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy of Serbia and President of the Council for Roma Integration met today, March 6, with representatives of the Roma Education Fund.
State Secretary Nenad Ivanišević of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy of Serbia and President of the Council for Roma Integration met today, March 6, with representatives of the Roma Education Fund.
The parties discussed the joint implementation of the EUR 2.3 million project “Improved Education and Integration Opportunities for Roma in Serbia” implemented by the Roma Education Fund with the support of the German Development Bank (KfW).
The project focuses on two priority areas of the Strategy for Social Inclusion of Roma in Serbia and the next steps will be directed towards joint cooperation of the line ministries and Roma Education Fund in Serbia.
REF Country Manager for Serbia Nataša Kočić-Rakočević stated that 500 scholarships for Roma students in high school education and 50 paid internships were planned for the period 2017-2019, with a specific focus on 75 recent graduates from vocational high schools as a target group for a long-term employment.
“Improved Education and Integration Opportunities for Roma in Serbia” will be implemented during the next 30 months.
