The REF Scholarship Program (REF SP) offers open merit–based competition academic scholarships for Roma students pursuing Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degrees at state-accredited universities in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo*, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.

In order to assist the interested candidates to successfully complete and submit their Online Application Form (OAF), REF SP provides scholarship scheme-specific information and guidelines on eligibility and selection criteria as indicated below.

Dear Applicants:

The REF Online Application System (OAS), in use since 2011, allows the interested Roma students to apply in an efficient and interactive mode. It provides the registered users with e-based prompt feedback on the compliance with Program’s eligibility requirements as well as regarding the status of submission of the Online Application Form (OAF).

The scholarship cycle for the 2013 – 2014 academic year is now opened to interested candidates, who may apply in accordance with Program’s guidelines.

REF Scholarship Program scholarship schemes available on a yearly basis:

  •   Roma Memorial University Scholarship Program (RMUSP)
  •   Law and Humanities Program (LHP)
  •   Roma International Scholar Program (RISP)
  •   Roma Health Scholarship Program (RHSP); in the case of RHSP scheme, support is also provided at the medical vocational level.

 

DEADLINES

Deadlines for submitting the Online Application Forms for the 2013 – 2014 scholarship schemes:

ROMA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (RMUSP)
•        Deadline for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Kosovo: 20 May 2013
•        Deadline for Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Turkey: 24 May 2013

LAW AND HUMANITIES (LHP)
•       Deadline: 20 May 2013

ROMA HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (RHSP)
•       Deadline: 31 May 2013

ROMA INTERNATIONAL SCHOLAR PROGRAM (RISP)
•       Deadline: 31 July 2013 (the 2013 application cycle will be launched on 1 June)

Complementary Support
Ongoing beneficiaries are also eligible for further complementary support as follows:
•        For Professional Development Fund (PDF), under the RMUSP and LHP;
•        For Conference Grant and Language Courses Grant, under the RHSP;
•        For Language Courses Grant, International Internships, and Small Scale Projects, under the LHP.
