Call for applications for the RISP 2020/2021 scholarship cycle is now open

Roma Education Fund is excited to announce our annual call for scholarship applications for the Roma International Scholarship Program (RISP) is now open.

The RISP program is designed to provide partial support to Roma students who are citizens of one of the following Program countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo*, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine, and are  pursuing Bachelor, Master, Doctorate, or Postdoctoral education outside their home country or country of residence.

The aim of the RISP scholarship is to promote academic mobility of Roma students and support their academic integration internationally.

Please note that for the 2020/2021 scholarship cycle a number of new elements have been incorporated into the RISP scholarship scheme and application process. The summary of new elements are as follows:

  1. Short biography/introduction (maximum of 200 words introduction featured on REF’s website)
  2. A photo, which will be attached next to selected recipient’s short introduction
  3. Letter of Intent
  4. Recommendation letters are no longer required. However,  a reference person with contact details will still be required
  5. Submission of Consent Form (in line with GDPR standards of data processing)

Applicants must read in full the RISP Scholarship Guidelines in order to be able to understand the requirements and ensure successful compliance and completion of your application. Upon reading the application guidelines, applicants can access the Online Application Form (through RISP Scholarship Guidelines page) in order to apply.

 

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
