It is not residential segregation, but free school selection that plays the strongest influence on school segregation – shows the new study prepared by Gabor Kezdi and Gabor Kertesi professor. The study examines 100 Hungarian towns with considerably high Roma population in order to see the correlation between school segregation of Roma students and local educational policies.
The research was financed by the Roma Education Fund.
