#REFSerbia hosted the event “Employment Empowerment of Young Roma: Getting to Know Each Other, Connecting, Exchanging Experiences” on December 8, 2022, in Belgrade.
Over 70 young Roma from all over Serbia had the opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss about the challenges and the opportunities of #employment in Serbia.
The event was opened by Redjepali Chupi – co-director of #REF – who was joined on the first panel by Milan Nikolić, Adviser to the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality and Darko Marjanović from the National Employment Service. The panelists made a brief overview of the cooperation thus far and a brief retrospective of the support regarding the employment of young Roma, which #REFSerbia implemented with the support of partner organizations and institutions.After a short review of successful stories, panelist Anđela Jovičić, Miroslav Stanojević, Stanoje Simić and Stefan Živković shared their experiences during their internships with employers from the public, private and civil sectors.
