The First Trinational Congress Project | Workshop in Bulgaria

What is the perspective of the youth over the future of Europe? We are seeking an answer to that question together with our partners, GrünBau gGmbH from Germany and Youth Club from Bulgaria, in the framework of the First Trinational Congress project, that kicked off in July 2022.

Seven young people from Romania are participating in the first meeting of the project between July 25 and August 4, 2022. The Romanian group is coordinated by Alexandru Zamfir, an educational expert in the foundation. The workshop in Bulgaria is attended by young people from both the host country and from Germany.

“This experience exchange between young people from the three countries aims to identify their common interests in the European context. The main goal of the meetings, besides knowledge, debates and team building activities, is for these young people to generate ideas and to develop a series of measures for an inclusive Europe, a space where everyone feels represented and culturally valued, so that one feels at home wherever one goes” – Alexandru Zamfir, project coordinator.

The project initiated by GrünBau gGmbH in Germany includes three meetings with 27 young people, events which will take place in Bulgaria (25 July – 4 August 2022), Romania (26 September – 4 October) and Belgium (February 2023).

“In the second phase of the project, our goal is to gather in a brochure the ideas and measures proposed by these young people, who will present it to the representatives of the Council of Europe in Brussels in order to share their vision about the future of Europe. This project aims to promote learning mobility among young people, who are concerned about what is happening in their societies and in Europe, and to act as a catalyst to produce a reduction of discrimination and exclusion at European level” – Alexandru Zamfir.

The project “The First Trinational Congress” is funded by the local government in Dortmund, Germany.
